Rafael Madan

Senior Vice President/Head of Wealth Management

In his role as Senior Vice President/Head of Wealth Management of Brickell Bank, Rafael Madan oversees the team of private bankers and develops strategic plans for the bank and its clientele to maximize current and future investment opportunities. 

Madan is responsible for developing new Private Banking products and was part of the executive team that led the rebranding of the bank n July 2015.  He represents Brickell BankSM in the United States and Latin America along with the senior management team, and plays a significant role in community organizations.

Prior to joining the bank formerly known as Espirito Santo Bank in November 2013, Madan was the Managing Director of Wells Fargo Advisors in Miami responsible for 90 Financial Advisors, $14 billion in Assets, and Revenues exceeding $100 million. 

He joined Oppenheimer & Co (Miami) in 1994 and his twelve-year tenure ended in the position of Managing Director/Branch Manager.  Prior to that he was Director, Latin America Private Banking at Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust Company in Miami.  He graduated from Florida State University in1971 and began his career at First Union National Bank in Charlotte, NC.  In the years that followed, he served in a variety of escalating positions with Northern Trust Bank, Sun Bank, CenTrust, and Citicorp Savings Bank all in Florida.

Madan has served on many boards including: Performing Arts for Community & Education, The Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, the Great Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, and the President’s Council of Florida International University.  He is an advisor to the Student Investment Fund at Florida International University and a Founding Member of the Miami Springs High School Football Alumni Association.  He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
