Work hard, ask questions, and never stop learning – G. Frederick Reinhardt G. Frederick Reinhardt became Chairman & CEO of Brickell Bank ® in 2012 and led the management team through the rebranding in 2015.

 “My management style is simple,” states Reinhardt.  “I tell it like it is and I empower people who show promise.”

Previously he was President and Member of the Board of The Bank of Fairfield (CT) and Executive Vice President of its holding company, BNCFG. He joined the bank in 2009 where he remained until he joined ESB in 2012. He led the bank from $20 million to $120 million in assets, and created and built the brand in the Fairfield markets. Reinhardt developed and implemented strategies that maximized revenues, controlled expenses, and recognized emerging revenue generating opportunities. From 1988 to 2008, he was with Merrill Lynch & Co (London and New York) and last served as Director, Global Bank Group. Among his roles during his tenure were Regional Director of HNW Banking (London); Senior Representative, Merrill Lynch International Bank (NY); Director, Latin America Offshore Bank Group; Regional Director, Consumer Finance Distribution; and Co-Head, HNW Bank Distribution and Development. Reinhardt worked at Greenwich Asset Management from 1985 to 1987. He began his career at Chemical Bank in 1974 and worked in the Multinational Division in New York before transferring to the Europe Group (Italy) as Manager in the Corporate Banking department. Before leaving Chemical Bank in 1985, he was in the International Division in New York City with the Southern Europe Government and Correspondent Banking Group and the Southeast Asia Credit Group. Reinhardt is deeply committed to the Miami community and the Connecticut community where he still maintains a home. He was recently elected to the Board of the Friends of WLRN and is a Fellow of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) Board. Reinhardt, age 65, was born in France, and is fluent in French and Italian. He graduated from Kenyon College with a degree in Political Science.  

Martin G. Prego, CAMS

Group Chief Compliance Officer

Martin G. Prego was appointed Senior Vice President and Group Chief Compliance Officer in April 2014 and is responsible for managing all aspects of regulatory compliance Brickell Bank and its subsidiaries: Brickell Global Markets, Inc.® (Member of FINRA/SIPC) and Brickell Global Advisory, Inc.®, a Florida registered investment advisor.

Prego was the Senior Vice President Compliance Manager of Gibraltar Private Bank & Trust (Coral Gables, FL) from 2012 to 2013.

From 2010 to 2012, Prego was the Senior Vice President & Head of Premier360 at Espírito Santo Bank where he managed a team of bankers and private banking portfolios and developed business in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and the domestic retail segment.  During his tenure, he served as Senior Vice President & Head of Compliance from 2006 to 2011, and was Vice President and BSA/AML/OFAC Compliance Officer from 2004 to 2006.

He began his career at Merrill Lynch Bank & Trust Co. (Miami, FL) in 1997 where he rose through the ranks to Assistant Vice President of Risk Management and Compliance before leaving in 2004.

Prego received his Bachelors of Arts (with honors) in Political Science from the Universidad del Salvador (Buenos Aires, Argentina) in 1995, and graduated from the International Business Program at the University of Miami (Coral Gables, FL) in 1997 with a degree in International Relations.  He is fluent in Spanish and English and holds a Series 7, Series 24-Securities Principal, and Series 66 licenses, and is a Certified Money Laundering Specialist.  Prego presents at seminars, webinars and global conferences as an anti-money laundering expert, and has published articles on money laundering and compliance issues for the Association of Certified Anti-Money Laundering (ACAMS).

Carlos Modia

Chief Financial Officer

Carlos Modia was named Chief Financial Officer in November 2013 and was instrumental in the rebranding of Brickell Bank® in July 2015. Modia joined Espírito Santo Bank, the predecessor of Brickell Bank®, in 2005 and served as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. As a member of the senior management team, he guides the bank’s accounting, finance, IT, and operations departments.

Raul Vidal

Residential Lending Division

Raul A. Vidal joined Brickell Bank® in 1992 as Senior Vice President, Residential Lending, to develop and implement a Residential Lending Division, which grew to become a leader in the Foreign National Lending for mortgages in the South Florida Community.

Vidal has managed a portfolio of close to $300 million in loans, generating in excess of $40MM of new loans per year. He is also responsible for initiating and cultivating client relationships as well as developing and implementing marketing programs to promote banking products.

Prior to joining Brickell Bank®Vidal was the Vice President, Branch Manager from 1987 for Commercebank N.A. in Coral Cables. He managed a staff of 35 employees at the main office, and oversaw the operation during the acquisition of new branches.

From 1981 to 1987, he was the Vice President, Branch Manager for Florida National Bank at the Brickell Office. Vidal began his career as Assistant Vice President for Southeast Bank N.A. in Miami. In 1974, Vidal was part of the first graduating class of Florida International University in Miami and took Graduate-level business courses at Barry College (now Barry University). A well-recognized, active member of the community, he is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese, and is an accomplished musician who has performed with the Greater Miami Symphonic Band since 1981. Additionally, he has a passion for photography.

Aydin Koymen


Aydin Koymen joined Brickell Bank® in 2013 and was promoted to Treasurer in April 2015. With more than 20 years of bank treasury expertise, Koymen is responsible for the management and oversight of the bank’s liquidity, interest rate risk, investing, and asset/liability management as well as all other day-to-day treasury related activities. Prior to joining Brickell Bank ® as Assistant Treasure/Director of Asset Liability Management, Treasury, Koymen was the Director of ALM/Assistant Chief Investment Officer, Finance from 2012 at City National Bank of Florida in Miami. During his tenure, he implemented the Sendero Asset Liability Management model, created models within the Finance department to analyze and understand loan portfolio characteristics, and managed an investment portfolio of more than $1Billion. From 2004 to 2012, he was with BankAtlantic in Fort Lauderdale and last served as Assistant Treasurer, Bank Treasury & Investments. Among his roles during his tenure were Financial Analyst, Finance Division, and Asset Liability Manager, Bank Treasury & Investments. Koymen worked for Wachovia Bank in West Palm Beach and Charlotte, North Carolina from 2000 to 2003 and at Farm Credit Bank of Texas in Austin from 1998 to 2000.

He began his career at National City Bank, formerly First of America Bank and worked in Corporate Accounting.  Before leaving, he worked in the Funds Management Division as a Financial Analyst.

In 2004, Koymen received his MBA in Finance from Palm Beach Atlantic University in West Palm Beach. He earned his B.B.A. in Finance from Western Michigan University, Kalamazoo, in 1997. Koymen is a graduate of the Bank Atlantic Leadership Program at Nova Southeastern University.
